About this event

Attention young innovators, there’s a holiday hackathon in town. Powered by the Edo State Government in conjunction with Siemens Nigeria and managed by Impact Hub Lagos and EdoJobs as part of their Edo Innovates initiative, the hackathon, tagged “Power4Edo”, is slated to hold at the Edo Innovates Hub (ICE Building), Benin City on the 17th of December, 2018.

The Hack Edo Series is an initiative focused on leveraging innovation and technology to identify and solve very pressing issues faced by individuals, businesses and Edo State as a whole. The objective is to equip young Nigerian innovators with skills necessary to impact their various communities through a series of practical hackathons.

Shortlisted candidates are expected to pitch their varying ideas to a panel of judges on possible solutions in the field of energy and power which spans renewables, microgrids, payments, smart metering, pay-as-you-go solutions, solar-powered products and a host of others.

The top three (3) finalists with the best ideas will be given seed funding for investments towards rapid prototyping and business acceleration.

First prize- N2, 000,000

Second Prize– N1, 000,000

Third Prize– N500, 000

In addition, the winners will also be given 3 months free membership and mentorship at Impact Hub Lagos and/or at the Edo Innovates Hub in the areas of financial innovation and technology.
