The hashgraph system achieves the goal of distributed consensus, but without the constraints of current blockchain technology. Hedera provides distributed consensus while also being fair, fast, provable, Byzantine, ACID compliant, efficient, inexpensive, timestamped, DoS resistant, and optionally non-permissioned.
