RTP Hacks 2018: Southeast Raleigh Hackathon

The Labor Market is a nonprofit organization in the Research Triangle Park region of North Carolina serving as a connector for all things tech, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Their goal is to help youth from underrepresented groups in the community to develop a greater understanding about careers that are available in the field of technology. The Labor Market is also enabling youth to learn about the skills needed for those jobs or that are necessary as tech entrepreneurs as well as how technology can be used to create positive change in their community and on a broader scale.

The Labor Market

The <A HREF="https://www.thelabormarket.org/rtphacks2018/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">RTP Hacks 2018: Southeast Raleigh</A> hackathon will be held on Saturday, October 27. 
If you are a student between the ages of 13-17 who attends a Triangle school, you are invited to attend the RTP Hacks 2018: Southeast Raleigh hackathon. It’s a hands-on interactive opportunity that will expose you to what a career in technology could be like. It will show you how to take the interests and ideas you already have and use them to be a force for good that can change your life and your community. 
 
Pre-registration is required.
 
You will be required to attend both the Hackathon Prep Day and the Hackathon event:
 
Hackathon Prep Day
<UL>
<LI>Date: Thursday, October 18 from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. </LI>
<LI>Location: Raleigh Career Pathways Center, 900 South Wilmington Street, Raleigh, NC</LI>
<LI>Participants will form teams of two to four people</LI>
</UL>
 
Day of Hackathon
<UL>
<LI>Date: Saturday, October 27 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. </LI>
<LI>Location: Google Fiber, 518 West Jones Street, Raleigh, NC</LI>
<LI>Dinner will be provided</LI>
<LI>Teams will pitch their ideas to judges, who will then vote and choose the winning team</LI>
<LI>A grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded and split amongst team members</LI>

You will NOT be officially registered for the workshop if you (only) complete registration through Eventbrite.
