Call for Code: Two-Day Hackathon at SJSU

IDEAS at San Jose State University focuses on fostering student-led innovative ideas and bringing them to fruition. Through the use of our incubator and accelerator space, our student-led leadership team has created an environment that facilitates ideation, intercollegiate team building, and collaboration, as well as networking with local communities. Additionally, our startup teams-which are composed of both entrepreneurs and skilled students have access to mentors, equipment, funds and other resources that accelerate their startup ideas.The ZinnStarter Program is funded by Ray Zinn, the longest-serving CEO in Silicon Valley.ZinnStarter is one arm of Ray’s goal of exporting the positive aspects of Silicon Valley culture to the rest of America. By reaching students in university entrepreneurship programs, Ray intends to impart his experience, encouragement, mentoring and perspective, as well as putting seed money into the pockets of the next Google, Apple, Ford, Walmart or AT&T.https://ideassjsu.org/

Call for Code is a challenge that asks developers to create AI, Cloud, Data, IoT, or blockchain solutions for global disaster relief. Hardware projects are highly encouraged. This joint project supports the UN Human Rights office and The International Network of The American Red Cross, and is being sponsored by IBM. IDEAS is collaborating with SJ Hacks, the Colleges of Business and Engineering, other student orgs, and startup sponsors to host our own Call for Code event at SJSU as a two-day hackathon. Prizes include $1,000 prize for the top hardware project.

Free admission and food This event is only for SJSU students who are age 18+
Teams of up to 5 are allowed. Prizes include a $1,000 cash prize for the top hardware project.
