<h2>Calling all humanitarians who hack!</h2>Are you a -<ul><li>A﻿ high school student?</li><li>A college student?</li><li>A parent?</li><li>A teacher?</li><li>A person who loves Hartford?</li><li>Are you a marketer?</li><li>A designer?</li><li>A tinkerer?</li><li>An innovator?</li></ul>Join us in solving the important challenge of Environment JusticeClean air is essential to health. Yet nearly half of Americans are still breathing unhealthy air, and the burden is not evenly shared. Some communities are disproportionately impacted by air pollution - those facing the greatest burden are certain communities of color and low-income communities who are 1.5 times more likely to live in an area with poor air quality.This disproportionate burden has led to calls for environmental justice. Because this is about more than the air we breathe – it’s about health and lives since those living with bad air quality face a range of serious health harms. The City of Hartford’s Department of Health &amp; Human Services, with funding from the EPA U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, wants to address this issue and community input is a critical component.Therefore in partnership with the City, Upward Hartford will be hosting a 24-hour Hackathon that will enable Hartford&#x27;s best thinkers to come together and work on solutions to this pressing problem. In addition, <a href="https://auraair.io/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Aura Air</a> who developed the world&#x27;s smartest data-driven air purification system will be joining as a technology partner. The company will grant exclusive access to real-time indoor air quality data as well as its innovative dashboards and analysis tools to help hackathon participants understand the problem and develop solutions.<h3>This is where you come in!</h3>We are calling on members of the community to come together for a fun 24-hours of working together to develop strategies and solutions on how to raise awareness about the importance of indoor air quality in homes, schools and public transportation. The goal is to introduce new solutions and ways of thinking and then create campaigns that will help get your message out.Use your knowledge and skills to make a difference today.By the end of the Hackathon weekend, our judges will select three finalist teams, each team will get a cash prize of $1000. Finalists will have the opportunity to work with the City of Hartford Health &amp; Human Services on implementing their solutions. Aura Air will also select a winning team and each participant will receive their world famous <a href="https://auraair.io/products/aura-mini" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Aura Air mini</a>.There’s more! Ensure that you, or a representative for your idea, are able to attend the entire Hackathon weekend before registering.</li><li>Come to the Hackathon with ideas in mind.
