<P>Over the next few years, climate change coupled with a growing population that is expected to reach 9.8 billion in 2050, will have a dramatic impact on our world and will disrupt our already fragile ecosystem. By 2030, 65% of our population will face a shortage of power and water. Energy consumption is growing at a staggering rate and is projected to increase by as much as 55% by then. This is primarily due to the combined effect of population growth and a dependency on energy-intensive lifestyles.</P>
<P>Trends like urbanization that require water-intensive activities are putting pressure on already scarce resources. The availability of clean and affordable water for everyone on the planet is becoming a major challenge. It is reported that by 2050 at least one in four people will be affected by water stress and severe water shortages.</P>
<P>It is up to us to find ways to simultaneously preserve the environment and as well as drive development to ensure that future generations have a better world to live in. Enzen’s sustainability program encourages participants to develop high-quality solutions that can be used to solve water and power related challenges and create a positive impact on the environment.</P>
