January is -- let&#x27;s face it -- the worst. Let&#x27;s remedy that by kicking off 2023 together in style at our first StrictlyVC INSIDER in-person event of the year. We&#x27;re thrilled to announce that we&#x27;ll be sitting down with <a href="https://openai.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Open AI</a> CEO Sam Altman, whose company is leading a growing pack of generative AI companies. (He <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TzcJlKg2Rc0&amp;t=2572s" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">told us</a> what was coming in 2019 ; now it&#x27;s nearly here, it seems.)A﻿lso joining us: longtime venture capitalist Alfred Lin of the storied venture firm <a href="https://www.sequoiacap.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Sequoia Capital</a>, where his bets on Airbnb and the food delivery business DoorDash landed him at the top of the Midas List last year. One bet that didn&#x27;t not play out as Lin imagined was on the cryptocurrency exchange FTX, and we greatly appreciate Lin coming to talk about the deal and much more.And we&#x27;re very thankful to fintech VCs Mercedes Bent of <a href="https://lsvp.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Lightspeed Venture Partners</a>, Victoria Treyger of <a href="https://www.felicis.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Felicis</a>, and Jillian Williams of <a href="https://cowboy.vc/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Cowboy Ventures</a> for making time to join us for a conversation about one of the buzziest areas of startup investing over the last decade and one now facing serious headwinds owing in part to global inflation and a possible recession. Are the disruptors about to get disrupted? Interviewer Reed Albergotti, the Technology Editor of <a href="https://www.semafor.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Semafor</a>, will ask!You won&#x27;t want to miss this one.
