Socialize with Engineers, Scientists and Techies while immersing yourself in exhibits that spark your imagination at the number one interactive museum in San Jose!WHAT: BEST at the Tech - STEM Networking and Recruitment HourWHEN: Friday, December 2nd, 2022 from 4:30 pm - 8:30 pmWHERE: Tech Interactive Museum, located in downtown San Jose (201 S Market St)At this event, you will have the opportunity to network with diverse SJSU students and industry professionals like yourself, explore the interactive exhibits the museum has to offer, enjoy food and refreshments, and more! In the past year, BEST at the Tech hosted professionals from many Silicon Valley companies and students from different engineering disciplines. All attendees reported that the event surpassed their expectations.This is a tentative agenda: 4:00 - 4:30	Broadening Participation in Engineering Exhibit (Lobby)4:30 - 4:45	Doors Open, Check In and Registration, Recruiting Tables4:45 - 5:15 	Organizer Presentations: Broadening Participation in Engineering 5:15 - 6:00 Dean’s Welcome and DinnerDr. Sheryl Ehrman has served as the Don Beall Dean of the College of Engineering at San Jose State University since 2017. As dean, she oversees 26 academic programs, delivered by 290 faculty and instructors, that serve 6500+ students, as well as the college of engineering&#x27;s growing research enterprise. She has cultivated strong relationships between the university and Silicon Valley companies, hired award-winning engineering faculty, and established new speaker series and career-prep incentive programs for the college&#x27;s students. On her watch, the percentage of female engineering professors has grown to one of the highest in the country.6:00 - 6:20 	Music as Medicine/ Body Worlds Exhibit F﻿olarin ErogbogboFolarin Erogbogbo (Prof. Eros), Ph.D is a biomedical engineering professor at San Jose State University. He picked up drumming from the Nigerian record producer Don Jazzy and he has maintained it as a passion since. He loves the Body World Exhibit at the Tech interactive and give an informative interactive tour sometimes accompanied by african drumming. 

6:20 - 6:40	Feature Presentation Road Maps to Success in Silicon Valley E﻿meka AfigboEmeka&#x27;s work at Okta is concerned with making sure that Developers who are building with Okta are successful by ensuring that they have access to the right developer content, developer support and community programs that they need.
6:40 - 7:00	Keynote Presentation	 Todd Coleman Family Faculty Scholar in the School of Engineering and an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at Stanford UniversityBio: Todd P. Coleman received B.S. degrees in electrical engineering (summa cum laude), as well as computer engineering (summa cum laude) from the University of Michigan. He received M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from MIT in electrical engineering and did postdoctoral studies at MIT in neuroscience. He previously held faculty positions in Electrical &amp; Computer Engineering and Neuroscience at the University of Illinois and in Bioengineering at UC San Diego. He is currently the Yu Family Faculty Scholar in the School of Engineering and an Associate Professor in the Department of Bioengineering at Stanford University. Dr. Coleman’s research is very multi-disciplinary, using tools from applied probability, physiology, and bioelectronics. He has been selected as a National Academy of Engineering Gilbreth Lecturer, as a Fellow of IEEE, and a Fellow as the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering. He is currently the Chair of the National Academies Standing Committee on Biotechnology Capabilities and National Security Needs.
