TECHFAIR LA HACKATHON

TechFair LA Hackathon will bring together developers, designers and creators to hack innovative culture solutions. Teams will be challenged to use cutting-edge technologies to disrupt the way people consume, experience, and create content.
 
<H2>You Bring...</H2>
Your laptop, skills &amp; ideas. Come with a collaborative, team-focused mindset and/or team-up in advance. Whether you are a developer, designer, project manager, or just interested in tech, you are invited to attend this event. Every group needs a good balance of talent and your skills are needed! This event will not feature an onsite team formation component so it's highly suggested you arrive with a team to work. Maxiumim for a team is 5 people. 
 
<H2>We Supply...</H2>
Quick presentations (TBD API) and code samples that help kick start your hacking, food to keep you going, and caffeine to keep you awake. We will have technical mentors to assist you in building faster, smarter, and with new tools.

The theme of the Hackathon is to build applications to improve HR &amp; job seeking.

<H2>Event Schedule</H2>
The following is a list of the week’s agenda:
 
<H3>Day 1: Wednesday, March 7th 2018 </H3>

7AM - Doors open with breakfast, networking, developer dating and team formation. You MUST have your ticket in order to be let in. 
</LI>
<LI>
8AM - Kick-off Keynote speaker
</LI>
<LI>
8:30AM - HACK BEGINS. Work with the teams from Day 1 to complete your hack. Mentors will be available throughout the entire day to help you code your solution. 
</LI>
<LI>
12:00PM - Lunch is served
</LI>
<LI>
5:00PM - Dinner is served
</LI>
<LI>
11PM - Venue closes for the evening. Hack submissions will be accepted throughout the next day with a deadline of 7:30AM. Any submissions after 7:30AM will not be accepted. 
</LI>

<H3>Day 2: Thursday, March 8th 2018 </H3>
<UL>
<LI>
7:00AM - CODE FREEZE. The fun continues with coffee and breakfast served in the morning! App submissions must be submitted by the deadline of 7:30AM.
</LI>
<LI>
7:30AM -  Pitches start promptly at 7:30AM and are limited to three (3) minutes per team. PowerPoint presentations are NOT recommended!

9:00 AM - Hackathon Pitches close.
</LI>
<LI>
9:10 AM - 10:00 AM Judges deliberate and choose top 3 finalists
</LI>
<LI>
10 AM - 5:00 PM  TechFair LA!
</LI>
<LI>
5:00PM - WINNER ANNOUNCED at The Cloud Room
</LI>

<H2>Judging Criteria</H2>
Hacks will be judged based on the criteria below and weighted accordingly.

33% Weight - Ability to clearly articulate what your hack does

33% Weight - Originality of idea
</LI>

33% Weight - Design and polish of app/solution
</LI>
