The theme will be announced during the opening presentation.

Lunch and dinner will be provided to General Admission tickets. Virtual attendees will not receive food.

Prizes:

1st Place: $500

2nd Place: $300

3rd Place: $200

All attendees (general or virtual) are eligible for all prizes.

Qualifications:

NONE! Don't have experience with programming or hacking? No worries, it's the perfect place to learn!!

Teams:

You may work individually or be part of a team. Teams need to be decided at signup! Teams will be specified as a part of your signup. Non-SFU members are allowed so long as at least 50% of the team is made up of SFU students.

Max team size is 5.

Groups can be formed using the CSSS Discord (https://discord.gg/sfucsss) - specific team-forming channels will be opened in early October. Just make a comment asking to join a group or reply to a group asking for people to join their group!

Teams can be formed with both general and virtual members.

Submissions:

Submissions will be done through a link which will be emailed out to participants during the afternoon. Submissions will include a list of group members, team name, project name and project link (GitHub, GitLab, other repo; or a URL to the deployed project). Most importantly, submissions MUST include a README.md with instructions on how to build and run the submission.

Starting from an existing project that team members have worked on is against the spirit of the event. However, we highly encourage you to leverage existing open-source libraries, frameworks, or other code to get the fastest start you can!

The submission deadline is at 19:30! Projects submitted later will not be considered for awards.

Schedule:

8:30 - 9:00: Registration

9:00 - 9:30: Opening presentation (Room TBA)
