Holo-Hackathon (with HoloPlayer One!)

Looking Glass Factorywas founded in 2013 by a team of inventors, artists, and engineers chasing the dream of the hologram. Based in an old glass factory in the Home of the Hologram (Greenpoint, Brooklyn) and in a converted warehouse in Hong Kong. A team of over a dozen lunatics churn out new prototype interfaces each month, sharing those creations with the world.Since its founding, the Looking Glass Factory name has become synonymous with all things Hologram and Hologram Hacking. And invention parties. First making its name of Kickstarter with volumetric prints and theL3D Cube(LED cubes from the future!), Looking Glass spent most of last year working on a new type of lightfolding volumetric display - Volume. These days, you'll find most of the team huddled over a HoloPlayer One prototype, with a glimmer in their eyes."THE HOLOGRAM IS NEAR!"you may hear them whisper under their breath, as they reach into heretofore unexplored technological territory. It lost, most Looking Glass Factory team members can be found in karaoke bars, arcades from the 80s or at fortune-telling booths. Never hurts to get a little tip on what's around the corner!

Looking Glass Factory

On Sep 29 - Oct 1, come join your fellow Hologram Hackers in Greenpoint, Brooklyn for the world's first Holo-Hackathon with HoloPlayer One. 
For those who are yet unfamiliar, HoloPlayer One is the world's first interactive lightfield dev kit prototype created by the intrepid inventors at Looking Glass! HoloPlayer One is the first living system that allows anyone to touch, interact with and transform 3D creations in real physical space without any headgear - "What?!"
Over the course of a weekend, you'll form lasting friendships with other developers, designers, and artists to collaboratively create your own holographic applications. 
The theme for this first Hackathon is MEMORIES. Interpret this as you wish. 
All Hologram Hackers are recommended to have previous experience developing with Unity (in any capacity!) as our main port into HoloPalyer One is currently only available in unity via our HoloPlay SDK. Get a feel for the HoloPlay SDK <A HREF="http://forum.lookingglassfactory.com/t/holoplay-sdk-download/179" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">here</A>.

Although we would love to include everyone in this first Holo-Hackathon but space and devices are limited. For this reason, we do ask that you <A HREF="https://goo.gl/forms/FHGK8DYju7UY0Ozi1" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">fill out a very simple application</A> form for us to ensure the greatest diversity of creators. All applicants will be contacted on September 17th (now extended to EOD September 19th) about your spot in this upcoming Hackathon!*
*Note that your RSVP on this EventBrite does not guarantee a spot in the Hackathon. Please fill out the application form for your final confirmation. 
The winning team will walk away with a shiny new HoloPlayer One to call their own!
