OTAB / City of Orlando Smartest City Challenge Kickoff

We are focused on connecting the Orlando Tech community through the the simplest form of communication…a conversation. Our goal is to be interactive and allow technology, music and digital media enthusiasts to learn from other professionals, have questions answered in real-time, discover new tech, and hear stories that inspire. Orlando Tech and Beer is a platform for technology, creative and digital media professionals who wouldn’t normally cross paths to meet, collaborate, and learn about what their peers are doing in our own community.

Come out and join us as we kick-off the "Smartest City Challenge" to support the City of Orlando's Smart City initiative. This will be the formal announcement from OTAB and the City of Orlando for the Aug. 26th - 27th hackathon being held at UCF. We encourage you to join us and to push the boundaries of creativity, innovation, reality, and tech to build solutions and concepts that have the potential to make a difference in our community and in the city of Orlando. Our goal is to provide support to the city of Orlando in its efforts in becoming a Smart City and also showing our capabilities as a community in becoming “The Smartest City”. 
To start off the evening we will have a presentation from Chris Castro, Director of Sustainability and Co-chair of Smart Cities for the City of Orlando. We will then proceed with an overview of The Smartest City Challenge and our overall goal as a community. Our mentors will also be introduced as well as our supporting partners. Food and drinks will be provided for those in attendance and we encourage the tech community and those interested in the future of our city and businesses to join this conversation.
