OPSU Presents Operation BizSprint

Hillsborough Community College (HCC) and the Hillsborough County Government. The InLab is Through four program areas (Academics, Community Events and Workshops, Veterans entrepreneurial services offered throughOperation Startup, and the Research Institute, which is a design thinking center of practice for the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship – NACCE), the InLab@HCC provides the community with a rich mixture of high impact advisory services, robust collection of innovative workshops, co-working space, subject matter expert entrepreneurs-in-residence, formal college credit entrepreneurship programs, business funding opportunities, design thinking services, academic research project initiatives, and an array of informal non-credit structured programs. We help early stage entrepreneurs take action on their business ideas.

BizSprint 
Operation Startup (OPSU)*, in partnership with Hillsborough County, Hillsborough Community College, SOFWERX, Entrepreneur Collaborative Center, Code for Tampa Bay Brigade, and The Iron Yard, presents BizSprint, an event to bring Military Veteran Entrepreneurs** together with Business Development Teams (BDT)*** will work together to further develop their Veteran Owned Businesses. BizSprint is a hybrid Hackathon/Startup Weekend that will begin with pitches by Vetrepreneurs** to BDTs. Vetrepreneurs will follow two tracks: those whose pitches are selected will begin working with the BDT; those not selected will be provided with mentorship, training and resources to refine their pitches and business design.

Why: To help Vetrepreneurs further develop their business concepts
How to get involved:
1)     Word!  Help spread the word about Operation Startup and the BizSprint which are designed to support Veterans and their families after they have served our Nation.  Nearly one in four active duty service members and Veterans want to open and operate their own business. Opportunity, freedom, and solving problems attract them to the challenge of entrepreneurship.
2)     Sponsor!  We are looking for sponsors to support our aspiring Vetrepreneurs.  Let’s help our Veterans and their family secure economic success post military service through entrepreneurship!
3)     Participate! Have you struggled to find a way to give back to our Nation’s Heroes other than a monetary donation to a non-profit?  This is a great opportunity to get to know our Veteran community and network with like-minded Entrepreneurs! Register at EventBrite as a Sponsor, Vetrepreneur, Business Development Team Member, or audience member.  
* Operation Startup (OPSU) is a startup lab for Military Veterans, Service Members, Spouses and social entrepreneurs.
**Military Veteran Entrepreneur and Vetrepreneur is defined as a business owned by a:  Military Veteran, Active Duty Service Member in transition, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Spouse.  Eligible companies must be minimally 50% owned by a Military Veteran Entrepreneur.  If you are a Vetrepreneur planning to pitch please email TPC-Vellis@hccfl.edu, asap.  
***Business Development Team Member is a business professional who has skill or knowledge that could support the success of any business.  Some professions are listed below, BUT are not limited to this list. Feel free to contact organizers with questions.
