1st Y4PT GLOBAL TRANSPORT HACKATHON

Youth For Public Transport is an international non-governmental youth organisation (NGO) that promotes the active participation of young people in advocatingsustainable mobility,by promoting the integrated use of public transport with other means of transport, to achieve greater well-being and a better quality of life of all people around the world.Our story started in Helsinki, Finland, in 2006 where a visionary group from the UITP, decided to bring a fresh perspective to the world of Transport, by involving young people and listening to their perspective and experiences on Public Transport.We are Young Ambassadors spread all over the world, working together because we believe boundaries and limitations should not exist in promoting sustainable development to communities worldwide.

Y4PT - Youth For Public Transport

The Youth For Public Transport (Y4PT) Foundation (<A HREF="http://www.y4pt.org/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.y4pt.org/</A>),  UITP Members and other stakeholders, and following a long-standing tradition of Y4PT Youth Lab series, has promoted the organization of local transport hackathons around the world,  in collaborative environments, with the aim of advancing transport sector towards sustainability.
We are now inviting Montreal locals  to join the winners from each local transport hackathon and several international enthusiasts at the  1st Y4PT Global Transport Hackathon Montreal 2017 (<A HREF="http://www.y4pt.org/projects/youth-meeting/montreal-2017/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.y4pt.org/projects/youth-meeting/montreal-2017/</A>) in the framework of the 62nd UITP Global Public Transport Summit Montreal 2017 (<A HREF="http://www.uitpsummit.org/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">http://www.uitpsummit.org/</A>) – the world’s oldest and largest sustainable transport event – to contest in a final round for unveiling the world’s best ground-breaking transport solutions.
Many cities around the world such as <A HREF="http://www.y4pt.org/projects/hackathon/local" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Almaty (Kazakhstan), Bogotá (Colombia), Brescia (Italy), Brussels (Belgium), Cambridge (England), Cape Town (South Africa), Dubai (United Arab Emirates), Eindhoven (Netherlands), Ghent (Belgium), Kampala (Uganda), Lisbon (Portugal), Madrid (Spain), Manchester (England), Medellín (Colombia), Santiago de Chile (Chile), Skopje (Macedonia-FYROM), São Paulo (Brazil), Stockholm (Sweden), Zagreb (Croatia) among others</A>, have hosted the first local transport hackathons.
