Join us as we host the Thriving Cities Innovation Showcase + Hackathon in support of Black social good innovators during the <A HREF="http://www.cbcfinc.org/event/alc16/" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's Annual Legislative Conference (CBCF ALC).</A> Leveraging technology, we aim to help solve challenging social issues that continue to disproportionately Black and Brown communities among other disadvantaged populations. We invite to bring your laptops, phones (and phone chargers) and most of all your ideas. Bring your skills to this event and help four social good app developers take their innovations to the next level. 
This is the first in a series of hackathons, bringing together local stakeholders from the business, advocacy, and tech communities to solve transportation, education and criminal justice issues plaguing historically underserved and minority communities. <A HREF="http://www.impact-dc.com" TARGET="_blank" DATA-MSYS-CLICKTRACK="0" REL="nofollow noopener noreferrer">IMPACT </A>hopes to build on 10 years of facilitating conversations and highlighting young leaders to inspire even more meaningful progress for our communities.  
In the wake of the horrific and unjust murders of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile, a movement in the Black community has emerged highlighting the need to support Black-owned companies and invest in Black banks. Join our #GoodieHackALC on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at 9:30 am. Let's connect that same energy to the tech/innovation sectors and put solutions we talk about during panels into action.
