LexLab, at UC Law San Francisco, is an innovation hub for emerging legal technologies. We have three areas of focus: a certificate in law and technology for students; an accelerator for legal tech startups on campus where our students and alumni can interact with entrepreneurs and provide support in various ways; and regular large and small scale community events focused on the intersection of law and technology.

UC Hastings College of the Law

LexLab at UC Hastings law school is a legal technology center focused on innovating the practice of law. We invite you to join us for an afternoon of fun, food, drink, demos and networking! Our event will be held in person and simultaneously broadcast on Zoom. You can register her either for in-person or online. (In-person registration is limited to 55 people -- so don&#x27;t delay in signing up!)The afternoon will kick off with presentations from three law students in our &quot;Building a Legal Tech Startup&quot; course. Instead of a final exam, the students have prepared pitches to showcase the business ideas they&#x27;ve been working on all semester.Next, we will see demonstrations from the five legal tech companies participating in our Spring 2022 accelerator program. They will be presenting to a panel of investors and legal tech evangelists and competing for a $5,000 grand prize. Second place will receive $1,000.The five legal tech startups are:<a href="https://caseyak.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">CaseYak</a> is using artificial intelligence to predict the value of personal injury claims. Its bilingual platform helps injured victims get access to justice by providing a data-driven answer to their most pressing question (&quot;what&#x27;s my case worth?&quot;) and connecting them with local law firms.<a href="https://www.graphletter.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Graphletter</a> helps companies meet their data protection and privacy requirements through automated legal reasoning and a collaborative compliance workspace. Built for in-house legal teams, Graphletter offers tools to streamline manual compliance tasks, identify hidden risks, and coordinate remediation steps, all within a simple and intuitive platform.<a href="https://www.inkly.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Inkly</a> is building an intelligent contract negotiation platform in your pocket, with attorneys on-demand. Inkly strongly believes that the future of contract negotiations sits in the hands of the non-lawyer, and is enabling that future.<a href="https://justicetext.com/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">JusticeText</a> is strengthening the ability of attorneys to analyze video evidence by creating the first centralized infrastructure to store, catalog, analyze, and share this crucial data. Its platform leverages machine learning to improve outcomes for low-income criminal defendants by enabling greater transparency and accountability around police interactions.<a href="https://legalkarma.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Legal Karma </a>is the first easy drag and drop tool to automate any contract (yes, really.) It empowers law firms to grow revenue without adding headcount by automating document drafting and building templates of cases.Following the award presentation, you are welcome to join us for an outdoor reception and networking event on our skydeck overlooking San Francisco City Hall.
