STEM4US! is a non-profit organization formed to support colleges, universities, and K-12 schools along with afterschool programs, parents and advocates in training students in STEM.  Realizing our nation's shortage in IT workers, as an organization, we have a specific focus on ramping up the numbers and diversity of our country's cybersecurity, data analytics, and artificial intellegence workforce.We achieve this mission through several national and DC-based initiatives including the Capitol Hill STEM Power Lunch ™ Series and the Energy, Technology, and Finance STEM & Cybersecurity Festival  ™, the organization’s signature events.  These high-level policy conversations provide platforms to examine ways to boost American innovation with a particular emphasis on removing barriers for women, African American, and Hispanic innovators.A video from a prior event can be foundathttp://bit.ly/1FZS9tk.More about STEM4US! can be found atwww.stem4us.org.

Join STEM4US! for the third annual Energy, Tech, and Education Festival, #ETE16.  This event is set for Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Washington Convention Center, 801 Mount Vernon Place Northwest, Washington, DC 20001.  The theme for the #ETE16 Festival is “Mission Critical: Training the Cybersecurity Workforce of Today, Tomorrow.”  
#ETE16 is a space for executives and professionals in the energy, technology, and venture capital sectors to engage government, academic, and nonprofit leaders. Thus, look at #ETE16 as a pop-up incubator for innovative business ideas and public policy initiatives.  Guests can expect to enjoy interactive workshops, networking, and receptions.

What: 2016 Energy, Technology & Education Festival (#ETE16) Sponsored by Pepco

8:00 AM: Registration and Continental Breakfast
9:00 AM - 6:00 PM: Cyber Security Showcase, Job Fair & STEM Education Fair: Join leading businesses, governments, and academic institutions seeking talented professionals and students to diversify their workforce.  Spaces in this fair provide participants opportunities to conduct on-site interviews and collect resumes.  A pool of 200-300 potential candidates for jobs, co-op positions, and internships are expected to attend this fair.  This is also a perfect opportunity for large businesses and start-ups alike to showcase their products and services to government, business, and academic leaders expected to attend the annual conferences of the Congressional Hispanic Institute (Sept. 13-15) and the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (Sept. 14-17).  Colleges, K-­12 schools, as well as STEM related after-school programs are also expected to attend and promote their programs to the hundreds of #ETE registered guests including parents, students, and educators.
9:30 AM - 11:00 AM: CEOs Roundtable: Protecting Confidential Infrastructure, Email, & Data; C-Suites Top Priority: A panel of CEOs and senior executives from energy, technology, financial services, health, and telecom companies discuss the importance of cybersecurity to their bottom line and the need for increasing the ranks and diversity of the Cyber workforce. Participants can also expect to learn about current and future innovations that seek to protect online networks used by businesses, governments, and individual consumers. Confirmed panelists include:

6:30 PM - 9:00 PM: #ETE16 STEM Presidential Debate & Reception hosted by NASDAQ (1100 New York Avenue, N.W., Suite 310 East Tower, Washington, DC, 20005, USA):  In the days leading up to the November elections, come listen to a policy driven conversation between representatives of Presidential campaigns from the Democratic, Green, Independent, and Republican parties.  Panelists can expect questions from energy, technology, and education professionals including investments in STEM education, reigniting US manufacturing vs. TPP, and police brutality vs. crime. Participants also have an opportunity to enjoy refreshments during the conversation.   Following a moderated discussion, members of the audience have the opportunity to pose questions to the panelists.
#ETE16 is: A unique opportunity for executives and professionals in the energy, technology, and venture capital sectors to network with government, academic, and nonprofit leaders.  #ETE16 seeks to incubate innovative business and public policy initiatives by creating a space for exchanging information, debating ideas, and forging key relationships.  Guests can expect to enjoy interactive workshops, networking, and receptions.  
History: STEM4US! held its first #ETE festival in 2014 and featured a host of speakers, companies, and institutions including Congressman Bobby Scott (VA) and David Owens, Executive Vice President with the Edison Electric Institute.  Like in past years, #ETE16 coincides with both the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's 46th Annual Legislative Conference (Sept. 14-17) and the Congressional Hispanic Institute’s Annual Conference (Sept. 12-13). These two large conferences attract over 10,000 of the top executives, policy makers, and academic leaders.
