We're a volunteer based VR Developer Group dedicated to educating and engaging the community. We specifically focus on the Unity® (free) platform, and best practices for Google Cardboard, Oculus Rift, and other VR hardware. We host topics on developing, publishing, marketing and monetizing Unity VR Apps.If you've never done anything - then do this, and get started making VR today! We're nurturing the coolest, friendliest community on earth, right here in New York.We are the first and only VR specific Unity meetup and the world's only Unity specific VR meetup!

NYCVRU

Everybody Wins!  Welcome to your future. Hackathons are likely the best way learn and make friends with like minded VR people. All skill levels are welcome.  We've taken our wealth of hackathon experience to design the most meaningful journey ever.   This event will give you the basic skills as well as instructions for publishing your hack online. Teams will have an entire week (and additional VR resources) to work on their hack. All projects get submitted (and judged) online. There are over 100 lbs in prizes including cash (paypal). Teams will be able to demo at VRminiConf 3 - 7/27 7:30p (not yet announced)
Plans change and we stay flexible - with that being said - here is the  Agenda:  5:45 - Beer and Pizza Networking (The best kind)  6p - Intro from Samsung - they'll introduce the tech we have to work with including:  5x Samsung GearVRs  1x Samsung 360 Camera (unreleased)  6:15 -  Samsung Gear VR and Google VR Intro - Our Certified Unity Developers will teach you the basic skills for developing VR for the Samsung Gear VR using Unity and Google's SDK  6:30 - Hackster Tutorial - We'll teach you how to use Hackster and publish your hack. This is how you win prizes (important)!  6:45 - Team Building - We'll nurture a bit of hackathon culture while helping create teams.
7p - Beginner/Intermediate/Advanced Unity Lessons &amp; Group Mentoring
9p - Wrap Up - Our team will send you off with the tools and inspiration to create some outstanding VR.  Enjoy.
