San Diego SmartCity Hackathon

The Silent Intelligence meetup is building a community of like-minded people interested in the Internet of Things, connected devices, wearable technology, connected health, smart cities, art+technology and entrepreneurship. It's about showcasing interesting startups, discussing new ideas, connecting people and having fun in the process.

Let's Turn San Diego into the Smartest and Greenest City in the World!
Help the City address the challenges of the Climate Action Plan utilizing actual city data and get a chance to win great prizes and have your project implemented by the City of San Diego!

If you haven’t found a team by the start of the hackathon - no big deal - you will be able to pitch your project to prospective teammates or join up with someone whose pitch you like at the pre-hackathon pitch contest on Friday, 5/20 at 6pm. You may also be a team of one, if you'd like.
Registrations will be accepted on a rolling basis until we have reached capacity. Capacity could be reached at any time, but the application process will close on Friday May 6, at 5pm.  Apply as soon as you can.

<H2>Hackathon Agenda</H2>
Friday, May 20
5pm - 6pm - registration & check-in, participant networking (food will be served)
6pm - 6:15pm - orientation for the pre-hackathon pitching and team selection
6:15pm - 7pm - team pitches (individual participants pitch their ideas and form or join teams).
7pm - 7:30pm - welcome. opening remarks by Maksim Pecherskiy, Chief Data Officer of the City of San Diego; Prof. Sujit Dey, Director of the Center for Wireless Communications, UCSD and Daniel Obodovski, Founder, The Silent Intelligence. 
7:30 - 8pm - hackathon agenda flow + Q&A
8pm - open - hackathon start
Saturday, May 21
8am - 10pm - full day of coding, designing, creating (breakfast, lunch, dinner + snacks will be served)
Sunday, May 22
9am - 12pm - wrapping up coding, designing and creating.
12pm - 1pm - lunch.
1pm - 3pm - pitch contest - exhibition style. Judges go around the room and interview all teams.
3pm - 4pm - judges deliberate, finalists are announced
4pm - next steps
The winner selection and awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 25 at 4:30pm at the Great Hall, UCSD. More information will be available soon.
