What is the Reverse Raffle?

The Reverse Raffle is the opposite of a normal raffle.  The goal of a normal raffle is to get your number called, but in at the Reverse Raffle you don't want your number called.  If you are the last number called then you win the prize, but of course there are twists and turns along the way!

What does the money raised go to?

The money raised goes to the Columbus Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers. The Columbus AAZK Chapter uses the money to help support professional development opportunities for keepers and also to help support conservation initiatives all around the world!

Where is the event held?

Accepted Answer

The event is held at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in the Africa Event Center. To get there enter the zoo parking lot as if you were going to the zoo but instead of going into the main parking lot hang a right directly after the parking booths and follow signs for the Africa Event Center.

Question 4

What is the big board?

The big board is the number is your entry to win the $2000 grand prize! This number is included with your purchase of the $50 event ticket.

Question 5

What are side boards?

Accepted Answer

Side boards are a version of the big board but with a smaller prize.  The tickets for these boards cost $1, $2, $3, and $5. The payout for each board is $100, $200, $300, and $500 respectively. For these tickets the same rules apply for splitting the pot at the end as the big board!

Can I choose my number for the Big Board when buying my ticket?

Accepted Answer

Yes! After clicking the "Get Tickets" button you can click the buy on map and choose between all the numbers available. Be sure to grab your lucky number before someone else does, because only one person can have each number!

Is there assigned seating at the event?

Accepted Answer

No. Although there is a map to buy tickets, the seats are simply to help assign numbers to tickets. Seats are all first come first serve night of the event.

Question 8

What is Big Board Bingo?

Accepted Answer

You purchase a bingo board and write down numbers from 1-200 on one side and write the same numbers on the other side of the page. You keep the one side and as numbers are called you mark them off on your board. First person to mark off all the numbers on their board wins 50% of bingo card sales!

Can I buy more than one bingo card?

Accepted Answer

Yes! you can buy as many bingo cards as you wish. The more bingo cards that are sold the larger the winnings!

What kind of payment is accepted at the event?

We accept cash, check, and credit cards as payment at the event.

Question 11

What are quickie boards?

Accepted Answer

Quickie boards are numbers that are purchased at the event, but only have 20 tickets and are run like a normal raffle, meaning one number is drawn and you want it to be yours. These will take place during the event, so if you are out early, then you still have a chance to win throughout the night!

If my number is called am I done for the night?

Accepted Answer

Not necessarily! Along with the big prize we have many other games going on including side boards, big board bingo, and quickie boards! In addition if your number is called on multiple of 25 then you can either sell your ticket to the chapter or have it put back in after the 190th number is called!

Question 13

What happens when you get to the final 5 numbers?

Accepted Answer

When we get to the final 5 numbers everyone whose number hasn't been called comes up to the front and they have the option to split the prize. If the everyone decides to split then everyone walks away with some of the prize, but if one person doesn't want to split then another number is eliminated.
