The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center is pleased to invite you to join us for the first Haynes Innovation Symposium, to be held virtually on Friday, April 25th, from 6:45 to 9:00 AM CST.
This event will celebrate the work of innovative otolaryngology residents from across the country, including Obinna Nwosu, MD of Mass Eye and Ear will be presenting his award-winning work titled “An Integrated, Cost-Effective System for Scalable Temporal Bone Surgical Simulation.” Our keynote presentation will be by Dr. James Daniero, University of Virginia Associate Professor and Director or Laryngology and Voice Care.
We will also have presentations on novel innovations by Vanderbilt University residents Dr. Rahul Sharma and Dr. Stephanie Kim. We will also have presentations from the honorable mention Haynes awardees: Dr. Claudia Gutierrez, University of Virginia and Dr. Taylor Erickson, UCSF.
Our keynote presentation will be by Dr. James Daniero, University of Virginia Associate Professor and Director or Laryngology and Voice Care. Throughout the event, a discussant panel of experts on innovation and commercialization will provide commentary on key insights for aspiring innovators.
The Haynes Award for Innovation in Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery was launched in 2022 to recognize future leaders in our specialty, and identify innovations that have the potential for breakthrough changes in the education and practice of otolaryngology.
