For our final session of Under One Atap,  we invite new, informal arts collectives that have been building a community  of creatives.

There has been an unspoken shift in Singapore's urban arts landscape, where independent creatives are taking root in organic and unexpected ways in our city.For our final session of Under One Atap, we invite new, guerilla arts collectives that have been organising gatherings - and slowly building a network of creatives. What are Singapore’s bubbling arts collectives responding to? How do they navigate and survive within the city’s bureaucratic cultural landscape? What can our arts communites look like? In this Under One Atap session, we’re gathering makers, musicians and everyone with an itch to create something of their own, in an open discussion on collectives and our often-unspoken work of sustaining meaningful relationships over time. We will be joined by Seni Sini, Labour Block and Ann Siang Sound - where we will be in conversation with creatives who have been doing the background work, holding space, and shaping the creative scene today.We hope to unpack this movement in a conversation with several informal arts collectives, to make sense of how alternative groups are building mini-communities within their spaces.In this Under One Atap session, we’re gathering community builders to share their stories and show how they support and uplift the local arts scene. Meet creatives who have been doing the background work, holding space, and shaping the creative scene today.From breaking the ice with our Open Art Trade and our community dialouge - to meeting new creatives and digging at the connections we foster. We’re calling all artists, makers, crafters, collectors and anyone with a creative spark — come and BARTER YOUR ART with our OPEN ART TRADE and share what you love to make! How it works:1. Bring a work or a craft that you would like to swap (it can be yours or a work you love!)2. Place it at our Trade Hub3. Exchange works with fellow creatives! For our open art trade, exchanges will be facilitated in a low pressure and anonymous way, but feel free to initiate conversations after :) Join us for an evening of trading, creating, and yapping with creatives — and leave a deeper sense of what Singapore’s arts communities could look like, new friends and a work of art! *each session will feature snacks from home-based businesses! Registration starts at 6.30pm

What is "Under One Atap" ?A spin-off of Atap Assembly, ‘Under One Atap’ is a series of youth-focused community events aimed at bringing lightness, warmth, and a space for us to dissect the noise together, navigating conversations that may otherwise never be surfaced.With each gathering, we are creating a participatory experience - to centre arts, community, and culture. No matter if you are a salaryman or an oddball - we hope to break apart the walls between us, and to house everyone - under one roof.Make stuff, make meaning, make friends - Under our Atap! - With love, The Black Sampan Team ----------------------------------------------------------------- Our final session, the ‘Community’, is brought to you by The Black Sampan, and in support of the National Youth Council.
