Are Computer CORE classes usually offered for free?

Yes, CORE’s regular classes are free to qualifying adult learners who face barriers to digital access and opportunity. CORE offers three 10-week Terms of free online classes each year for individuals in need of digital skills for educational and career advancement.

Will there be more paid Workshops?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we plan on holding more paid Workshops this summer and, possibly, other times of year. The revenue raised from the  paid Workshops supports CORE’s free classes, computer refurbishment lab, HelpDesk, and coaching services.

How do I sign up to find out about Computer CORE's free online classes?

Please fill out the Interest Form at www.computercore.org/classes. We will respond to you via email. CORE's free online classes are available to US residents of Virginia, Washington DC, and Maryland.

How can I donate computers?

Accepted Answer

We welcome donations in DC, MD, VA of laptop or desktop, along with mice, keyboards, monitors, and cords https://www.computercore.org/computer. Please note we cannot accept printers, scanners, fax machines, or items over 25 lbs. For other electronics, visit Securis for responsible e-cycling.

Are the paid Workshops online?

Yes, all of the paid Workshops are offered online over Zoom. You will receive the Zoom link on or before the day of the class.

Can I make a financial donation?

Accepted Answer

Yes, Computer CORE is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization, EIN # 54-1968428. Donations are welcome and go directly to providing free classes and free refurbished computers to adult learners in need of digital skills. https://www.computercore.org/contribute/

No, we are unable to provide refunds.

Are the paid Workshop fees tax deductible?

Accepted Answer

No, the paid Workshop fee is not tax deductible as a service is being offered in exchange for the fee. Any financial or computer donations to CORE are welcome and are tax deductible. You will receive a thank you letter which also serves as your tax receipt.
