Wise Health is offering a Hack-a-thon experience to individuals working within the community health sector.

I.T. Bookman Community Center

This professional development opportunity is designed to increase teamwork, innovation, and problem-solving within your organization. Applicants will collaborate on creating a solution that aims to end the current HIV epidemic impacting vulnerable San Francisco communities.Our hackathons will utilize a design thinking approach, a popular problem-solving tool that puts human and user-needs at the center of the process. The workshops will focus on three areas: empathy, ideating, and prototyping. There will also be a special and recognition for the most innovative solution. What is Design Thinking? insert video The workshops will be centered on the San Francisco Department of Public Health on Ending the HIV/AID Epidemic. These are their three goals:1. Get to and stay at zero new HIV infections, zero HIV-related deaths, and zero stigmas.2. Eliminate HCV3. Reverse the increasing STI rates and prevent congenital syphilisThere will be four Ending The Epidemic workshops to select from: 1. Improving Sex Education and Communication Within African American Communities 2. Creating Effective Community Engagement Strategies to Reach Transgender and Homeless Populations3. Creating Tools to Increase Health Care Professionals&#x27; Capacity on Detecting and Treating HIV/STD4. Improving The Treatment and Living Conditions of Black Seniors Living With HIVThe workshops will be held in a covid conscious space and will be done socially distanced.
