He is the founder and artistic director of the María Herrero International Piano Competition and the Spain International Piano Composers Competition (WFIMC). Morales has performed as a soloist with major orchestras including the National Orchestra of Spain, Hamburg Symphony, Dallas Symphony, and Warsaw Philharmonic, in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and the Kennedy Center. He is a long-time exclusive artist of MUSIESPAÑA and, since 2018, of Yangtze River Piano in China, where he gives concerts and masterclasses across leading venues. Morales serves on the jury of over 30 international piano competitions and his students have won top prizes at Iturbi, Paderewski, Epinal and others. He continues to perform around 40 concerts annually and teaches alongside his son, Leo de María.
