THEOPHILUS KWEKTheophilus Kwek has been shortlisted twice for the Singapore Literature Prize. In 2023, he was the youngest writer and first Singaporean to be awarded the Cikada Prize by the Swedish Institute, for poetry that “defends the inviolability of life”. He is part of the Forbes 30 Under 30 Class of 2024. His latest book is Commonwealth (Carcanet Press, 2025).
POETRIOT
Formed in 2018, POETRIOT is a collective of experienced artists from the
underground scene presenting spoken word with raw aleatoric music, accompanied by performance and media art.
They have performed in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, including Singapore’s very first dark alternative music festival DARKSIN in 2024. This experimental noise band will invade your auditory and visual senses, pull you out of your comfort zone, and urge you to ask the right questions about life, the fall of society, human nature, and moral decay.
WAHID AL MAMUN
Wahid Al Mamun is a poet and Ph.D. student in Anthropology at McGill University, studying the intersections of migration, poetry, and political identity formation in Singapore. He is the author of the poetry collection WHAT GOD TOOK YOUR LEGS AWAY (AFTERIMAGE Press, 2025). His works and translations have also been published in Cordite, PR&TA Journal, QLRS, and other anthologies. Born in Singapore, he now lives in Montréal.
