If I participate online, can I get merch?

Yes! This year all our shirts, hoodies, etc. are being sold by the non-profit org KC7 Cyber Foundation, which provides free game-based learning to people around the world who want to learn threat hunting skills. All the profits help to fund the foundation so you can feel good while looking cool

Are there beginner-friendly workshops? Or workshops for experienced hunters?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we have asked each workshop leader to be clear about what skill level they assume participants to have. Some are aimed at beginners and assume very little experience. Others are definitely for pros who want to learn more, so they will skip over intro-level material and get right to new stuff.

How do I watch the workshop materials online?

Accepted Answer

When you buy a ticket, you will get an invite to our Discord and your account will be assigned a role to let you access the 2025 workshop channels. In each channel, you will get the links to watch recorded video instructions, read written instructions, and access resources.

Question 4

How long do I have to complete workshops?

Accepted Answer

We will keep the lab up through December 31, 2025. If we still have funds left, we'll keep it up for a month or two later. Workshop leaders may only be available to answer questions on the two conference days, but you can read their answers to other people's questions in the Discord channel

Do I need a computer to participate?

Accepted Answer

YES! To complete the workshops, you need a computer capable of running virtual machines, with a decent amount of RAM and CPU cores and disk space. You can use VMWare Workstation or Virtualbox (both free) or whatever works for you.

Are there scholarships available?

Accepted Answer

Yes! We are on a mission to make good training accessible to everyone who has a desire to learn. We've given scholarships every year, and this year we're expanding that to a pay-what-you-can pricing model so everyone can participate. If you can afford to pay full price, please do :)
