Be prepared to share your thoughts and feedback, and continue to make our Chapter valuable to its members.09:00 - 09:50 – The Use of OSINT in Tactical Investigations  – Michele Stuart, JAG InvestigationsThe internet provides investigators with the ability to detect individuals, identify threats and organize offensive and defensive approaches. Focusing on the individual threat is not always the answer. Understanding how technology gathers and disseminates online data empowers you to safeguard your information and how to leverage Open Source Intelligence to identify and assess a threat climate, uncover hidden clues, and discover actionable intelligence. Identifying actionable intelligence is an extremely important focus on research to assist in the identification and movement of individuals.  Additionally, correct searches of social media platforms can identify the real threats, suspects, and witnesses in an investigation. In this class, you will learn how to employ OSINT and popular social media to help solve security challenges as well as identify risk and threat assessments.Ms. Stuart has over thirty years of experience with twenty-four years operating her own company. Ms. Stuart’s area of expertise includes OSINT, counter intelligence, insurance fraud investigations, financial investigations, threat assessments, due diligence, organized retail crime, corporate and competitive intelligence. Ms. Stuart consults and trains federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, the military intelligence communities, fortune 500 companies as well as the financial and insurance industries in open source, social media and threat assessments / mitigation as well as dangers of social engineering. She has been an Instructor at Quantico (FBI Academy) for International  training programs and a former Adjunct Professor with University of Virginia. In 2017, Ms. Stuart partnered with Pennsylvania Office of Homeland Security creating a program “Keeping KidsSafe”, training administrators, principals, teachers, SRO’s and parents on the dangers of online and social media activity, predator grooming as well as the dangers of applications / cellular security.10:00 - 10:50 – Adversaries are watching and your “TV is muted” – Joe Gray, The OSINTIONThis presentation will show attendees methods that adversaries use an organization’s own infrastructure against them to gain valuable intelligence about them (as a target) ahead of malicious activity. The flow of the presentation will start with a very basic discussion about what OSINT is, then transition into discussion about what adversaries seek, and finish with a discussion about how to monitor, mitigate, or eliminate the threats.Joe Gray, a veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force, is currently a Senior OSINT Specialist at QOMPLX. Joe is the inaugural winner of the DerbyCon Social Engineering Capture the Flag (SECTF) and was awarded a DerbyCon Black Badge.As a member of the Password Inspection Agency, Joe has consistently performed well in Capture the Flag events, specifically those involving OSINT. Examples include 2nd Place in the HackFest Quebec Missing Persons CTF and Winning the TraceLabs OSINT Search Party during DEFCON 28. Independently, Joe placed 4th in the DerbyCon OSINT CTF and 3rd in the National Child Protection Task Force Missing Persons CTF.Joe has contributed material for a variety of platforms such as Forbes and Dark Reading in addition to his platforms. Joe has authored the OSINT tools DECEPTICON Bot and WikiLeaker in addition to the forthcoming book, Practical Social Engineering, due in May 2021 via NoStarch Press.10:50 – 11:30 – Closing Comments
