Do you have ideas for solutions to that leverage technology? Want to work with other likeminded, dynamic people? Have skills like web or mobile development, design, mapping, data analysis, research, or storytelling? Come apply your technical, creative, and business skills to transform our cities for the better. <a href="https://www.emersoncollective.com" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer"></a>During this Pittsburgh Civic Hackathon, you will hack on solutions for civic good, hear from innovative leaders, meet technical, creative and business mentors, receive input from domain experts, and form remote teams to create useful prototypes that solve pressing needs. Our intention is that you meet some amazing people, build relationships with mentors and team members, and learn from other leaders in the community. The event is intended to be a collaborative forum for sharing, learning, building, and having fun. The solutions to civic issues developed over the weekend or intended to be open sourced. As such, by registering as a participant, you acknowledge that any ideas shared by you or anyone else over the course of the event are contributions to the overall experience and community.Additionally, as a participant, you agree to be inclusive of any and all people and their ideas. You agree to act professionally and treat everyone with respect.FAQ- What equipment and/or materials will participants need to have:<ul><li>Internet connected computer with working webcam and audio</li><li>Updated LinkedIn Account</li></ul>- Do I have to pitch an idea to participate? <ul><li>No, but we do encourage it! Think of a problem you can solve with some technical, design, and/or business help from your fellow attendees, and come up with a one-minute description of the problem and solution - that&#x27;s your pitch. Surprise yourself. Otherwise, you can contribute using your unique experiences to help a team build your favorite idea pitched.</li></ul>- Do I have to join a team?<ul><li>Everyone who participates as an attendee is expected to do so on a team. This not only helps to build community, but ensures everyone is contributing together. You are welcome to choose any other attendees to join your efforts during team formations on Friday night. </li></ul>- Do I have to be in or from Pittsburgh to participate? <ul><li>No. We welcome anyone interested in meaningfully contributing on a team to participate.</li></ul>- Can I pitch my existing project, business, or organization? <ul><li>No. For fairness, and to ensure the spirit of collaboration, we do not allow existing products or services to be pitched.</li></ul>- Do I have to work the entire 50 hours during the event? <ul><li>No. Some teams will delegate portions of the overall project that may need some extra hours of work on Friday or Saturday night from some team members, but this is by no means obligatory or required. We only ask that you be a meaningful contributor to your team in developing the solution being pitched on Sunday</li></ul>- Will data sets be provided? <ul><li>No. For the purposes of the weekend, we will allow any publicly available data sets to be used in your projects. If not available to be sourced during the event, example data may be used. We will help all teams to source actual data sets after the event to help ensure possible implementation.</li></ul>Thank You to Our Sponsors:
