🎭 Rehearsed Reading: Tell Me Where It Hurts
🗓 Presented by Teepee Productions | Written by Tayla KenyonJoin us for the rehearsed reading of Tell Me Where It Hurts—a powerful new play that explores the complexities of womanhood, health, and resilience. The Story: Tell Me Where It Hurts follows Chrissy, a dedicated drama teacher navigating life with premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). She is determined to stage the school play while also mentoring Annie, a talented yet troubled student who is auditioning for a prestigious performing arts school. As both women wrestle with their own bodies and emotions, they find themselves facing a shared struggle—the feeling of being unheard and misunderstood by the world around them. At the same time, Chrissy is grappling with tensions in her personal life, particularly with her partner, Nathan, who longs for a child—a desire that clashes with her own uncertainties. The play sheds light on the resilience required to manage women’s health issues in a world that often fails to recognise them.💬 Previous audience reactions: “Gripped from start to finish” | “Beautiful” | “Relatable” | “Touching” `“I read this with my daughter and now we are looking into PMDD”
🎟 What is a rehearsed reading?
A rehearsed reading is a semi-staged performance with professional actors reading from scripts ("on book"). While props and costumes are minimal, the production still features sound, lighting, and direction—allowing the story and performances to shine. This is a developmental sharing, and we would love your feedback via anonymous forms to help shape the next stage of the play.
💬 Post-show Q&A with The PMDD Project
Stick around after the reading for a Q&A session with The PMDD Project—a UK charity committed to raising awareness, funding research, and supporting people living with PMDD.
🍸 Extras

Bar open from 4pm

A safe, welcoming, creative space for all

Fully accessible venue

Spaces are limited, so please book in advance!

📩 Questions?
