Welcome to A Luminous Noel!A collaboration between a Japanese opera singer active in Italy and a famous Singaporean pianist. We will be delivering Christmas songs, famous operas and classical music! We can't wait to see you there! BiographyAyaka TsuchidaBorn in Saitama, Japan, Ayaka Tsuchida graduated from the Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo. After moving to Italy in 2018, she presently resides in Milan. Upon completing her Master’s course at the Piacenza Conservatory, she was also conferred the Doctorate at the Milan Conservatory, Italy. Amongst her many accomplishments include the first place at the 1st Italian Republic International Music Competition.As a member of the Piacenza Opera Theatre, she has appeared in numerous operas and concerts conducted by Riccardo Muti. She has performed in recitals in Japan and Italy, and has played the heroine roles of Norina in the opera “L’elisir d’amore” and Susanna in the opera “Le nozze di Figaro” and has been praised for her “sounding like an Italian.” Yi Kai, Sim Described by Alexey Sokolov as “a deep and sensitive musician with a noble, delicate tone quality”, Singaporean pianist Yi Kai was unanimously awarded the Second Prize in the Open Category at the 2006 International IBLA Piano Competition.Graduate fellowships paved the way to a Masters in Music degree at the University of California, Santa Barbara. After a nationwide audition at the Metropolitan Opera at Lincoln Centre, Yi Kai was invited as an artist for the Fall Island Vocal Arts Seminar in New York. As an opera répétiteur, he took on the triple role of assistant conductor, vocal coach and continuo harpsichordist in the entire production of Rossini’s The Barber of Seville in California. He has also collaborated with SSO musicians in a joint chamber concert for the Japan Tsunami disaster.
