Candle Light Cove Assisted Living & Memory Care

Candle Light Cove Assisted Living & Memory Care has teamed up with the Alzheimer’s Association, as well as area businesses and organizations in an undertaking called “ABSENCE: An Engaging Experience of Dementia Awareness.” This series of events will take place October 16-20, 2017, and is designed to bring together education and the arts as an avenue to heighten awareness of Alzheimer’s and related dementias on the Eastern Shore, as well as advocate for additional monies to fund Alzheimer’s research and programs.

Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. One-third of all people who die in a given year have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia. Yet, it remains largely ignored by those who are not directly impacted. And the toll it takes on those who are caring for a loved one with dementia is widespread and long-lasting.

Through our targeted partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, sixty-percent of the funds raised through this endeavor will stay in Maryland, and are used for services and educational programs throughout Maryland and the Eastern Shore.
