The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Winston-Salem, founded in 1985, is an interfaith ministry that promotes and supports successful aging by providing direct services, volunteer opportunities, and enrichment programs for older adults. The Faith In Action Care Program offers visitation, caregiver respite and transportation. The Vital Living Senior Center Program provides fitness activities, creative arts, discussion groups and day trips. The Congregational Nurse and Health Ministry Program fosters community partnerships to promote health ministries in and through faith communities.

Project: Help The Shepherd’s Center beautify their area for seniors! They have a 680 foot nature trail. Volunteers will spread gravel throughout the trail. Volunteers will also weed and prune the community garden.

Need to Know: Volunteers are asked to bring work gloves and if you have them, bring a rake, pruning and weeding tools. Wear closed-toed shoes.
