Ronald McDonald House of Winston-Salem, Inc., is an independent, community supported 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides a “home-away-from-home” for families of children who are receiving treatment in our community’s medical facilities. The House and Family Room programs offer physical comforts, emotional support, education, programming, and referral services designed to promote the well-being of the whole family. As one of six Ronald McDonald Houses in NC and one of more than 350 worldwide, they have 35 bedrooms with private baths for families, four living rooms, playrooms, a playground, support services, and a communal kitchen with items provided through community support.

Project: Calling all chefs and sous chefs! Volunteers will prepare dinner for 75-90 house guests and about 75 bagged lunches for families with children at Brenner’s Children’s Hospital and/or Novant Forsyth Medical Center. All supplies and tools will be provided.

Need to Know: Anyone who has a communicable illness, has had a cold or flu symptoms in the last 5 days, or has been exposed to an infectious disease within the 48 hours prior to volunteering may not volunteer. Volunteers may want to bring an apron. Carpool if at all possible due to limited parking space.
