Description

Freedom Service Dogs enhances the lives of people with disabilities by custom training rescue dogs for their individual needs. Come learn about Freedom and our volunteer program. This Information Session and Orientation is open to anyone interested in learning more about Freedom. During this class, you will learn about our dogs, our clients, our new facility, and how out can help us reach our goals. Attending this class is the first step to becoming a volunteer at Freedom.

What are the next steps for prospecitve volunteers after attending this orientation?

  1. Complete an on-line application and background check ($18 fee).

  2. Volunteers interested in "Dog Care and Enrichment" and "Fostering" volunteer positions will be required to attend training for these assignments. Trainings will be offered several times per month on Saturdays and during the week.

Is there an age limit for the volunteer program?

Volunteers between the ages of 12-15 must volunteer with an adult who has attended the orientation and required training. While volunteering, the adult must the be one who controlds the leash. The youth will be able to play and interact with the dog in other ways.
