Forsyth Tech Works - Second Harvest Food Bank (Sept. 26)

1 in 6 people living in Northwest North Carolina struggles to afford the food they need, while 1 in every 4 children is going without the essential nutrition they need to thrive. Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest NC provides essential food assistance through a network of partners and works to educate and engage our communities in the elimination of hunger and its causes. Last year alone, the Food Bank provided more than 25 million nutritious meals though their partner network, benefiting 300,000 neighbors in need, including 100,000 children.

Project: Help Second Harvest Food Bank stock the shelves! Volunteers will sort donations from food drives, conduct egg inspections and repackage canned and dry goods.

Need to Know: For safety reasons, all volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes and may not wear earphones or earbuds. Volunteers are asked to arrive 20 minutes before their shift to sign in and get a tour of the facility.
