Where: 350 E. Cermak, Chicago, IL (just one block east of The Exchange venue at Wintrust Arena)
As an exclusive offer, Steadfast is inviting attendees to a unique networking experience at 350 E.Cermak. You will get a first-hand glimpse into one of Chicago’s most historical buildings and see how a first-class data center operates. You will see elaborate gothic interior architecture dating back to 1912, the Memorial Library, and the systems running some of the world’s most advanced telecom and data exchanges.
After entrance, groups will be taken into the Library to network with guests while our IT experts rotate groups through the facilities tours. Tours are generally around 20-30 minutes. We will organize tour groups on a first come, first serve basis, but plan to have everyone out in time to walk to The Exchange event by 4:00 pm.
A Bit of Chicago History
You may not realize it, but Chicago’s largest data center is in a building that is over 100 years. Located one block east of the Wintrust Arena, the 350 E. Cermak data center facility is housed in the old RR Donnelley Printing Plant that was famous for printing Yellow Book and Sears Catalogs for over six decades. Ironically, the building construction that was designed to support those massive printing presses ended up being ideal to support its purpose today as a world-renowned telecom and data center facility. With over 1.1 million square feet and a power draw of over 100 megawatts of power, rivaling O’hare Airport, it’s an impressive building.
How to Register
Due to heightened security, visitors must RSVP 48 hours before event time in order to participate. On the day of the visit, you will be required to bring a photo ID for entrance.
