Description

It's becoming a thing. There's big money in eSports and that means jobs, new tech and opportunities.

Professional league video gaming modeled itself after real world sports. With league structure, match commentary, player profiles and sponsored merch, eSports resembles the traditional broadcast sports model - with a few twists. It's attracting thousands of fans, creating jobs and a niche in the world.

Join us for a look at the anatomy of eSports - how it evolved, the technology and the creative that drives it, how it differs from traditional sports broadcasts, where tech is headed, and where the business opportunities and the jobs are.

Presenters include crew from Blizzard’s Overwatch and H1PL. Not a gamer? See a broadcast here: https://www.h1pl.com/

H1PL live director and speaker Cameron Reed directs live multicam shoots. His work has aired on ESPN2, The NFL Network, DisneyXD and on the leading digital platforms including Twitch, Youtube and Hulu.

Joining Cameron are Michael Little, CTO Artistic Resources Corp, SMPTE member and system architect for H1PL’s 84 camera fly pack, Jose Soriano, veteran technical director for Blizzard Studio’s Overwatch, League of Legends and H1Z1, Matt Battaglia (EIC) and Bob Kertesz (VC) from H1PL, and Josh Rizzo, VP Technology, 24P Dailies Lab, Beechwood Service (SPE).
