Join us for the launch of Marx in Movement: Operaismo in Context (Polity Press, Cambridge, 2021), the first volume in a new trilogy of books by Antonio Negri. The event will feature a broad discussion by Ed Emery, including the Italian context of the 1970s onwards, and the relevance of concepts of operaismo for political work in our own time. Ed has been translating Italian revolutionary texts for the last 50 years, and this new volume is the latest in a series of collaborations with Antonio Negri on the theory and practice of Italian operaismo (“workerism”).
We are preparing a remote from Negri himself. There will be material from the Red Notes Archive of Italian revolutionary histories on display for the event, and copies of the book will be available at a discounted price.
The evening will continue with an after-party, including the singing of Italian revolutionary songs.
