Description

Black men, more often than not, are not given the space to express vulnerability. Because we are often oversexualized by white folx, we feel that we have to uphold this standard of "manliness" by not being open about how we feel and as a result perpetuate ideas of toxic masculinity. "When Black Boys Cry" is about navigating vulnerability as a black man in a space that normalizes police violence and genocide, ultimately decolonizing black masculinity. This is space for black folx to come together and be unapolegetically vulnerable and, of course unapologetically black.

The event is PWYC with priority placed on black folx. ideally would be asking for $5 but whatever the case may be, come as you are. You will not be turned away due to lack of funds.

NOW, some ground rules:

This is first and foremost a space space. There will be a ZERO tolerance for racism, sexism, transphobia, ableism, ageism, homophobia, and hotepping. If I catch you making anyone feel unsafe, i'll boot you without a second thought and feel no ways

Respect the space. Respect the artwork. Do not touch it and please please please do not damage it

This is an artshow FOR black people. All are welcome, but please refrain from taking up space if you are non-black
